INTERNATIONAL HEALTH CERTIFICATES

If you are planning to travel outside of the USA with your pet, you will most likely need an International Health Certificate.  Below you will find valuable information to help you through the often confusing process of traveling abroad with your pet.

Every country has different rules, and each requires different documentation to prove that your pet is healthy and vaccinated.  Obtaining the necessary documentation can be complex and drawn out, sometimes taking up to six months!

Our team is here to help you get organized—facilitating required exams, vaccines and testing.  We are also able to sign all necessary travel forms.

Because this can be a lengthy process, please contact us as soon as you are considering international travel.

STEP-BY-STEP

Step 1. Before visiting our office, fill out the form at the bottom of this website OR print and fill out the Pet Travel Checklist.  This can be found on the USDA Pet Travel website as well as on our website.  If you don’t have a printer, we can send you a copy.  The electronic form on the bottom of this website will likely expedite the whole process.

Step 2.  Visit the USDA Pet Travel Website and enter your destination country to learn its animal travel requirements.  Every country is different!

Be sure to write down all tests, vaccines, medications and microchipping that your pet needs.

Step 3.  Determine whether your destination country requires its own specific health certificate or if it allows the use of the USDA’s certificate (AKA APHIS Form 7001).

Step 4.  Fill out the form below and once we have reviewed your information, we will contact you to make an appointment.

PLEASE NOTE THAT A CHECKLIST NEEDS TO BE DONE PER PET!

Again, timing is everything!  Begin the International Health Certificate process as soon as you are considering travel!
